Learn about this new oxidant and disinfectant – ferrate – and its ability to oxidize DBP precursors, Fe, Mn, and trace contaminants. There will also be a discussion about options for ferrate’s use in conventional and advanced treatment trains.

Presenter: Dr. David Reckhow is a Civil & Environmental Engineering Professor at the University of Massachusetts, and director of the EPA’s new Water Innovation Network for Sustainable Small Systems (WINSSS) and Principal Investigator for projects on natural organic matter, disinfection by-products, and oxidation of organic contaminants in water.
