Position Description

The Santa Clara Valley Water District’s graphics team responds to more than 300 unique requests for service each year, many of which are complex and must be produced under tight timelines. This position will serve as an integral member of the graphics services team, which is spearheaded by a lead designer and includes a professional designer and two undergraduate student interns. The position is responsible for ensuring quality of graphics assignments and adherence to District graphics standards. This position will be responsible for effectively producing and completing graphics assignments, sharing best practices with the graphics services team, and supplementing/responding to, at times, complex graphics workload. Typical graphics projects include reports, pamphlets, fliers, fact sheets, web graphics, social media posts, infographics, signs, banners, interpretive displays, animated graphics, standard templates, booklets, public notices, digital and print advertisements, and District-branded giveaways.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Provide daily on-demand graphics design services with high accountability to project management.
• Maintain and enforce graphics standard guidelines.
• Respond to customer requests using case management system.
• Stay abreast of industry design trends and tools.

Position Qualifications

Training:
Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in communications, journalism, graphic design, public relations, education, or a related field.

Experience:
Three (3) years of experience in public relations, graphic design, education and/or volunteer outreach, public administration, community relations, or outreach activities.
Directly related experience may be substituted for the college requirement on the basis ofone and one-half years of experience for one year of education to a maximum of four years.
