Position Description

Intern at NapaSan will learn about maintenance of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation equipment used in wastewater and recycled water treatment, as well as basic workplace skills and habits.

Examples of Training Opportunities:

Become familiar with the operations of equipment such as pumps, motors, fans, gearboxes, power transfer (belts and chains), valves, piping, variable speed drives, generators, lighting, laboratory equipment, two-way base radio stations, and telemetry stations.

Learn the proper application and use of specific hand and power tools, including drills, grinders, saws, abrasive sand blast, hoists, winches, chain-fall and others.

How to diagnose, evaluate, install, modify, disassemble, repair, reassemble and perform maintenance on wastewater mechanical treatment and pumping plant equipment and facilities.

How to diagnose, evaluate, install and modify electrical and electronic circuitry, systems and instrumentation used to monitor and control plant processes and equipment.

Position Qualifications

Equivalent to completion of the twelfth (12th) grade. Completion of coursework in electronics, mechanical application, metal fabrication, robotics, construction or instrumentation in high school or a recognized academic, trade or technical institution is encouraged but not required.

No prior experience is required.
