General Job Function for Engineering Intern:
The Engineering Department provides services and technical support for a wide variety of District projects and activities. Typical projects include design of capital improvement projects (pipelines, pump stations, treatment plant improvements, energy recovery projects, canal improvements), process engineering support, evaluations of existing facilities, and technical support for dam performance monitoring. The student intern will work with professional engineers on small treated and untreated water projects and other larger capital projects as appropriate.

Position Qualifications

At least a Junior-year standing as an engineering college student is desirable, civil engineering is preferred. Graduate students are also encouraged to apply. Knowledge or coursework in fluid mechanics, structural analysis, design, and surveying are desirable as well as proficient skills in word processing, spreadsheet and database software. The successful candidate must pass a criminal background check.
