Position Description

The Electrical Instrumentation Technician II routinely performs industrial electrical, electronic and instrumentation equipment servicing, maintenance and major repair work on a variety of equipment and systems used within the agency’s wastewater treatment, recycled water, and resource recovery processes.

Position Qualifications

Qualifications for this position includes a combination of training and experience which demonstrates that a person has obtained the required knowledge and is able to perform the required work (with reasonable accommodation, if needed). A person with the following combined training and experience would typically qualify to compete in a selection process:

EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent supplemented by vocational or technical coursework and training in electrical or instrumentation equipment maintenance and repair.

EXPERIENCE: A journeyman industrial electrician with a minimum of four (4) years’ experience performing electrical and electronic maintenance and repair work in the water/wastewater industry or an industrial process technology environment. Instrumentation experience helpful.

• A valid California State Class C license
• California Water Environment Association (CWEA) Grade II Electrical/Instrumentation Technology certification is desirable.
