Position Description

Advance your career as an Associate Electrical Engineer with the East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD), an industry leading water and wastewater utility. The ideal candidate to fill an immediate vacancy in the Design Division of the Engineering and Construction Department will have strong technical expertise in power system engineering and analysis, corrective, predictive, and preventative maintenance standards, industrial control system (ICS) programming and support, and project management experience.

Duties include:
• Project planning and management
• Design
• Construction support and startup
• Planning, technical review, and research
• Oral communication
• Written communication
• Computer applications

The salary range is $9,779 per month increasing to $10,268, $10,781, $11,320, and $11,886 after 6, 18, 30, and 42 months, respectively.

Position Qualifications

1. A bachelor’s degree in an ABET-accredited electrical (or closely related) engineering curriculum OR a California EIT Certificate;
2. Four years of professional electrical engineering experience (subsequent to obtaining the degree); AND
3. California registration as a Professional Electrical Engineer.

Must possess a valid California driver’s license and have a satisfactory driving record. Must be willing to work overtime when needed. Must possess the physical characteristics to perform the critical and important duties of the position including both office and field duties.
